Promoting Energy Transition with Justice in Extractive Transparency Day Activities

SUSTAIN Project actively participated in Extractive Transparency Day on October, 16 2023. This event was held by Faculty Social and Political Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as EITI Indonesia Secretariat and supported by Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia, Ideas and Analysis Indonesia (IDEA) Yogyakarta, dan Research Center for Politics and Government (POLGOV) UGM. 

The big themes that bring in this event is  “Contextualizing Transparency of Extractive Industry Data and Information in the Framework of a Just Energy Transition”. 

Extractive Transparency Day is also part of events that proposed extractive data portals launched by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and Secretariat of EITI Indonesia.

It is expected of the public such as central and local government, NGO, media and academics, to utilize the portal to enhance the transparency of policy-making actions. This portals is also one stop data related with the transparency extractive industry that published data from oil and gas mining as well as mineral regularly from government and others institutions Various stakeholders from government, industry, and NGO side’s also attend this event. They present their product or activity related with environmental, social and governance (ESG),  and transparency implementation, or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
